Handmade paper art

About us

Paper art that pops to life.

We draw inspiration from Japanese origami and kirigami, but our heart belongs to Finland. We design cards that tell of Finnish landscapes, landmarks, nature and life's important moments.

At Paperitaika we believe a greeting card can be much more than a message. It can be a memory that stays on display for years to come.

Our story

Paperitaika was born from a love of paper art and that magical moment when a flat sheet of paper turns into a three-dimensional experience.

Since 2018 we have delighted people all over Finland with our handcrafted 3D pop-up cards. It all began at small design markets and craft fairs, where we wanted to see people's reaction the first time a card was opened.

That smile, surprise and delight are still the reason we do this work.

Over the years, a small passion has grown into a Finnish design studio of our own โ€“ Paperitaika.

We believe a card should stay as a keepsake

Many greeting cards are read once and put away in a drawer.

We want to do things differently.

We design cards that stay on display on a bookshelf, a desk or in the living room, recalling an important moment long after the celebration.

When a card stirs emotion, it becomes more than a card. It becomes a small work of paper art.

What makes Paperitaika different?

๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Designed in Finland

Every card is designed in Finland from start to finish. The sketches, structures and final details are created here.

โœ‚๏ธ Assembled by hand

Every 3D structure is folded and assembled carefully by hand. The small details make each card unique.

๐Ÿ› Finnish motifs

In our collection you'll find Helsinki's best-known landmarks and cards inspired by Finnish nature and the seasons.

๐ŸŽ A gift that surprises

A Paperitaika card is not just a greeting โ€“ it is an experience that unfolds before the recipient's eyes.

How a card is made

Every Paperitaika card goes through several stages of work before it reaches the customer.
  1. The idea. It all starts with a sketch and a thought we want to bring to life with paper.
  2. 3D design. The card's structure is modelled precisely, so that every fold works perfectly.
  3. Cutting. The pieces are cut from quality art paper with great precision.
  4. Hand assembly. The card's three-dimensional structure is folded and glued by hand, one piece at a time.
  5. Quality check. Every card is inspected one by one before packing, so it opens and closes exactly as it should.

Quality shows in the details

We use high-quality art paper that holds its shape and withstands use.

Every card is packed carefully in a protective envelope so it arrives safely โ€“ whether its destination is in Finland or on the other side of the world.
